expozaragoza

hello dear Servasmate ..... Are you thinking to go to the Expo ?

This weekend I’ve been there , just for three days: arriving on Friday afternoon, until Sunday..

We have been not very lucky with the weather: was horrible : raining, and windy. We arrived on Friday, and just getting down the bus arriving to the Expo, began to rain and rain, as the result of it the events of that night were cancelled.
On Saturday, the weather was bad again… but that are the unexpected with the climatology….
.
What I want to share with you, is my experience, and recommendations if some of you want to go….
1. Try not go on the weekend –if it’s possible - and specially, on Saturday; if the worst day, and the cues are tremendous.
2. Arrive to the Expo early in the morning… about 9…. and if you want to go to ‘Pabellon Espańa’ or to the ‘Acuario’ , you should made a cue to take off the advance-entrance to go into. One person can take only 2 entrance. Also you can take a fast-pass for one event in the machines that are distributed in the “recinto” ( note that not all the pavilions and events join this system......)
3. Chose in advance your preferences,,,, and made a plan.
4. The events that happen every day, that - I think - you SHOULD see, are:
12H. CABALGATA (Cirque du soleil)
5 times / day : Espectáculo del hombre vertiente. – for us was cancelled ,,,, but it seems it’s very interesting.
22.30 ICEBERG (Calixto Bieito)

5. Unforgetable :Torre del Agua // Pabellón Puente // Pabellón Espańa
Pabillions (that I see and enjoy) : Aragon (Inside :Video of Carlos Saura, marvellous) , Morroco, Turkey, Croatia, Greece, Poland, ... people says that Germany and Japan are nice, but..... so long cues to go into. (there are more than 120 countries ....)
Also there is an area of "autonomias" , normally the cues are little, and you can take a look into : Catalonia, Euskadi, Andalucia (nice video inside) , Castilla la Mancha......

6. Bring your own picnic; unless you want to eat in a good an expensive restaurant of some pavillion..... If you have a sandwich or a menu of the several cafeterias at the expo, you will eat so-so.... , with a bad relation price/quality. Bring also an umbrella, a cap, and a high sun-protector.

7. Take a look in the website of expozaragoza 2008 , to see the events of the day and the mainly points, location and places of the enclosure.

8. Nothing else: my willing and hope of: fun, exciting visits, short cues, and... no rain!!

let's see if I can join you in one of the english-speaking meetings!!

Maria José.
